How can the Liverpool Regional Family History Centre help with my family history research?

Staff can assist researchers to access and use the library's resources. Volunteers from the Liverpool Genealogy Society will also assist visitors to the Centre with their family history research.

Can I join the Library when I visit the Family History Centre?

Yes, membership of the Liverpool City Library is available at the Liverpool Regional Family History Centre. You just need to show proof of your name and address for example a Drivers Licence.

What records do you have for researchers to use?

There are many resources available for researchers including, Birth Death and Marriage Records, Immigration, Convict, Census and Musters and more.

How do I start my research?

The first and most important rule of genealogy is start with yourself and work backwards. Family documents, photos and other sources can provide you with many valuable clues to get you started on your genealogy adventure. They may include the names of ancestors, dates and places for births, marriages and deaths and insight into what life was like for your ancestors.

Do I have to pay to research at the Liverpool Regional Family History Centre?

The only cost is 25c per page for black and white printing and 50c per page for colour printing.
